I just moved to Ashford from Folkestone. I used to love reading as a teen and I did English Lit for university but got a bit tired of reading after that - now I am back to reading and love a range of books such classics or A Thousand Splendid Suns, Harry Potter, anything Toni Morrison, bell hooks, James Baldwin and my guilty pleasure books are fantasy romance books and mangas.

My name is Jayne, I have always loved reading from a young age, I like the idea of reading books that other people find interesting and recommend, when I read the back of a book to get the idea of the story it has to grab my attention if it doesn’t I don’t read it but I have been told persevere and see what happens, I am interested to know what other readers think and talking about a book with other people interests me me as well.

I am 69 yrs, recently moved back to Kent, I have always loved reading, go through stages of reading for a period of time, then stop, then pick up again, I am finding recently I pick books that sound interesting but once I start reading they aren’t so much anymore, I have also picked books that are ‘easy reading’ but I think my tastes is changing, I would like to know from other readers books they find interesting and can recommend, I am open to giving any type of book a try!

I have loved reading from a young age. I go through phases of devouring a book and then having a break before getting called back to a good read. I'm constantly distracted by pretty book covers so I don't dare wonder into Waterstones anymore. I also like finding a hidden treasure in a Charity shop. I currently read on Libby, a physical copy or I listen to audiobooks. Would love to join a Romantasy focused book group as that is what I read most of these days.
