I am 36 and looking to meet new friends in the Orpington area, I love reading and would like to make more time for it. I like psychological thrillers, crime, mystery but would also like to expand the genres that I read and would welcome new book recommendations.

I’m 45 and looking to join a book club to make new friends and chat about books of interest. I do watercolour and acrylic paintings. I also belong to a knitting club. I like to read books to escape my phone and other electronics. I would love to join your book group. Hayley

Hi, I moved to Orpington in 2022 and I’d like to join a book club that meets nearby. I’m 42 and have always loved reading since I was a child. I read a wide range of books from many genres, but I suppose my favourites are historical fiction and fantasy. I also enjoy reading about history and listen to a lot of history podcasts.

I’m a working Mum (late night reader!), 39 going on 20 and am mainly into dystopian, gothic horror/thriller, historical and comedy. Want to find a book group in the Bromley area.

Bookgal85 recommends:

The Testaments by Margaret Atwood
The Testaments

Unpopular opinion but I preferred this book to the first - obviously you do need to have read The Handmaid’s Tale for The Testaments to make sense, and even better if you’ve seen the TV series after the first book, as an in-between filling.
Shuggie Bain by Douglas Stuart

Gritty realism with a backdrop of 1980s Glasgow, this book tells the story of family dramas and the inner torment of a young boy growing up in chaos.
