Bushey Book Club

Mixed group aged 50+ based in and around Bushey, Herts. This group would be for those who enjoy reading novels. As examples we have read: The Humans - Matt Haig, The Girl with the Louding Voice - Abi Dare, Anxious People - Fredrik Backman, The Seventh Son - Sebastian Faulks, Lessons in Chemistry - Bonnie Garnus, and Eleven - Mark Wawtson. We are not that keen on fantasy or sci-fi but the odd book in that genre would be OK. Once per month meeting in each others' home on a rota. Wednesday evenings with snacks and drinks provided by the host.

Radlett Library Chatterbooks Group 2014-15

Hertfordshire libraries offer a free program called Chatterbooks, which is aimed at getting children ages 8-12 to love reading. Every month, attendees meet up at the Radlett Library for an hour of fun, book-themed activities. This program can help kids select new books for the library, meet authors, and participate in other reading-themed activities. Chatterbooks is open for one academic year, and attendees must register to join.

The Radlett U3A Evening Book Club, organized by Yvonne Brown, consists of a group of "mature" people in the Hertfordshire County who have come together to share and discuss books. Our meetings are usually held at each others' houses, but recently we have had to switch to virtual interactions via Zoom due to the pandemic. Though the members of the book club were strangers before joining the group, through our discussions about literature, we have become close friends. We are having trouble accessing books from our local library, and hope to receive outside help in order to obtain literature that we can all afford. Our meeting place is 2 Manor Court, Common Lane, Radlett, Herts, WD78PU.
