Very atmospheric & superbly written. The book is about people still living & working in London during the height of the Blitz in World War II.

Unpopular opinion but I preferred this book to the first - obviously you do need to have read The Handmaid’s Tale for The Testaments to make sense, and even better if you’ve seen the TV series after the first book, as an in-between filling.

Gritty realism with a backdrop of 1980s Glasgow, this book tells the story of family dramas and the inner torment of a young boy growing up in chaos.

humour, detail and plots always interesting - scandinavian settings described vividly - characters interestingly melancholic

A young female assassin called Celaena Sardothien, she attempts to win her freedom back and accidentally makes friends along the way but there are many secrets in her past she can’t ignore. The best fantasy series I’ve read, amazing character development and world building as well as a thrilling story and lots of intense battles!

Two unlikely friends write to each other with the help of their magical typewriters in a time of war. A mixture of fantasy and world war 1, this was an interesting read and I was immediately immersed in the world and its lore I fell in love with Iris and Roman!

Kind of mystery, political, set in Italy. Writing is fantastic and keeps you reading.

Fascinating insight into the culture and history of Egypt during a turbulent time made personal by the characters and stories in the book switching between the present day and the past
