A spicy romance with great characters. You can feel the bond between them and the found family aspect across the series makes me want to keep reading.

Ayesha (Blackburn)

Hi! I’m 22 and looking to join a book group to meet new people and share thoughts on great stories. I enjoy a mix of fiction, contemporary reads, and anything that sparks a good conversation. I’d love to be part of a relaxed, friendly group where everyone’s welcome to bring their own perspective. Always up for discovering new authors and hearing what others think!

Ayesha recommends:

the house of the spirits
by Isabel allende | Buy this book
The House of the Spirits feels so powerful because it mixes real political history with the emotional lives of multiple generations. Even though there’s magical realism, the characters and their struggles—especially the women—feel deeply human and believable. It shows how families survive love, violence, and dictatorship, which makes it feel emotionally real, even when the events are surreal.

Sam (Chorley)

Generally prefer Romances, but will give any book a try. Looking to meet up maybe twice a month to start off with, then maybe once a week if possible. Looking to make friends (ideally my own age at 23) through shared love of reading. Happy to start my own if need be, and always willing to take on new book recommendations.

I am interested in joining a book club as I love to read, but my husband does not, and I read so many incredible books that I would love to dissect and discuss with others, get their thoughts and feelings from the book and develop friendships with people who share my passion for reading!

MistyMountains (Lytham StAnnes)

Hello! I'd like to start a book club in the Lytham area. I love reading and discussing books! I would love to meet new people, hear about what reading means to them, how stories made them laugh, their jaws drop, how they impacted them. My favourite genres are mystery, classics, crime and sometimes a little bit of romance. I am open to expand my horizons too. If you're interested in joining a book club let's connect! I'm still figuring out the location, I've sent an inquiry to the Lytham library and I'm open to suggestions!

MistyMountains recommends:

Fairy Tale by Stephen King
Fairy Tale
by Stephen King | Buy this book
This book was only my second Stephen King read. Genre: dark fantasy/adventure. It starts off as a very ordinary story set in a small town. Ordinary events however lead to doors to the extraordinary. The story is masterfully patched together from pieces of well-known old tales but with dark, gritty twists. The elements of hope and friendship are the engine driving the main character forward in the midst of hardships. The main character's development and self-reflection are really well done. It is one of those books you cannot wait to get back to!

Karen (Burnley)

41 year old new mum who will read just about anything! I prefer crime novels, thrillers, autobiographies and trashy romance novels that my mum passes on. I never give up on a book I've started, even if I don't really enjoy it.
