Chapters & Chats (Chorley)

My name is Lauren I live in the Chorley area and have started Chapters & Chats as a way to connect with like minded ladies who enjoy reading, discussing plots and just chatting in general. Many women in their 30s and over find their social circle shrinking because let’s be honest life moves on and we don’t always take all of our friends with us. Let’s read, chat and form new friendships!

Revertedreader (Preston)

I used to love reading when I was younger. I would create some wonderful character in my head and bringing them to life would make me feel as though I was one of them. I just really want to get back into reading again.

Radu (Preston)

Hello, I am Radu, an MSc student in Preston. I am an avid reader of true crime, historical fiction, fiction, science, history and horror, but open to anything interesting. Looking forward to sharing book ideas and meeting new people :)

Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman

An excellent book that uses Christian lore and embeds it with the unique atmosphere of the Dark Ages. All the characters are three-dimensional, well developed within the context. Excellent horror book and looking forward to reading more from the author.
Jo Ward
by Every Contact Leaves a Trace: My Life as a Crime Scene Investigator | Buy this book
Gripping memoir from a Senior Crime Scene Investigator in the UK, whom I had the amazing opportunity to meet in person as part of my course. This is an excellent reflection of a day in the life of a CSI and how the job scene evolved into being more accommodating with women (for the better, always with a keener eye!) and PTSD.
Good Cop, Bad War by Neil Woods
Good Cop, Bad War
by Neil Woods | Buy this book
An eye-opener towards the less fortunate people of our society, and a major issue around the world. Neil's efforts as the chairman of LEAP UK to decriminalise the illegal substances are something to think about. He explain the snowball effect of the current situation, from gang violence and domestic abuse to money laundering and corruption.

Carl (Bolton)

Im 27 and I’m interested in joining a book club because I’ve been wanting to read more and think it’d be fun to do that with a group. Plus, it’s a great way to discover books I might not choose on my own and connect with people who also enjoy reading. At the moment i’m reading a little fantasy but i’m always looking towards discovering other genres

Retired and widowed. Always being told off for ‘having my nose in a book’ so now I’m on my own and reading is one of my favourite pastimes I thought it’d be a good idea.

I’m 30 and have just got back into reading after a slump for a few years. Looking for a book club or to meet friends with similar interests. I’ve always been into ancient history and have a degree in Classics. I like sci-fi and post-apocalyptic fiction and now I’m on the romantasy hype!
