I have always been an avid reader and being part of a bookish community encourages me to read a broader spectrum and explore worlds I would usually pass over.

Emma (Littlehampton)

I love to read and would like to meet some new people who also love to read. I will pretty much read anything if someone says it's worth my time, but my favourite genre is fantasy (LOTR, Brandy Sandy, Blade Itself, Addie Larue, also a sucker for Fourth Wing/romantasy)

I like to read but I can rarely get myself motivated to read as there are too many distractions like my phone ect... if I have others who are reading with me I'm more motivated and would love to share opinions about the book.

Andy (Littlehampton)

After almost a lifetime of reading as solitary exercise I now think I should meet like minded people. Currently going through the Rebus novels chronologically and have discovered The Kiln by William McIlvanney, an author that influenced Ian Rankin greatly. Although, this is not a crime novel. Milan Kundera is another writer that I admire.

Andy recommends:

Swimming to Cambodia
by Spalding Gray | Buy this book
Wonderful wry observations

ev_palmer04 (Chichester)

I love reading! my favourite genres include fantasy, romantasy, and romance but I'm totally open to reading other genres - I have been known to enjoy thrillers and crime thrillers. I'm looking for my next few reads that I'll actually enjoy - currently getting my next reads from Goodreads and booktok

ev_palmer04 recommends:

Fourth Wing
by Rebecca Yarros | Buy this book
The romance is secondary! and the plot is really enjoyable and I really loved the main character. Also before Fourth Wing I'd never enjoyed books or stories that involved dragons but Yarros does it such a good way that I started to miss reading about the dragon characters in other books.
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
A Good Girl's Guide to Murder
by Holly Jackson | Buy this book
It took me so long to read this book because of the EPQ sections but I found myself starting to prefer those sections towards the end of the book. I love Pip and Ravi; and the mystery element in this book is incredible

Danielle (Billingshurst)

Hi, I’m looking for a book club that runs properly. I started one in billi a month ago and I’ve been trying to get suggestions that’s “don’t mind” to everything and people who said they were interested didn’t show. So I gave up on that. I’m 34, studying health and social care, I’d love to meet new people! Make new friends and a reason to actually finish a book. I like reading thrillers mainly and some non fiction that’s health related, but some pretty random ones in between

Danielle recommends:

The crow girl by Erik Axl Sund

Jo (East Grinstead)

I’ve always enjoyed reading and would love to take my hobby and turn it into something social so I can meet like minded people. I love fantasy worlds currently reading Empyrean series but I also enjoy other genres if the story line peaks my interest. I’m a working mum but would love to meet up maybe once a month to talk books and swap recommendations.
