Book clubs in West Sussex

A wonderful winter read, this book is a beautiful, lyrically written story set in a fantasy version of medieval Russia. It is a truly magical book.

It takes a little while to get into the first book of any series, but once you get used to the character names and their personalities you fall in love with the book and can’t put it down. I love the escapism with this book. It’s quirky and interesting and believable in a very fantasy kind of way. The detailed descriptions are great but not over done so it’s easy to read and focus on the story. I definitely got emotionally invested reading this series of books.

It is several stories interwoven, set in different times and places, but all connected by the Diogenes story of cloud cuckoo land. That's the best explanation I can give.. it is beautifully written and enchanting.
