The way the story is written and how it takes you on a journey is incredible. You will be rooting for the main characters along the way.

Tracy

I hope that you are all keeping well. I am just posting this to say that i have read through several of your comments and I can see that there are many of us who would like to join a Basildon Book group. Therefore, I will pop into Basildon library to enquire about setting one up. If they agree, I will post the details on here as well as seeing about putting a poster up in the library to advertise. Looking forward to seeing if we can get one set up Kind regards Tracy D

Tracy

Hi, I am Tracy and I am looking to join a book club with like minded book worms. I enjoy a variety of genres especially thrillers, horror, romance, historical fiction based on true stories and many many more. I can see that there are several people looking to join a book club in Basildon, would anyone be open to doing this at Basildon library on a Saturday. Please let me know your thoughts and I would be happy to speak to the library to see if this can be arranged on a monthly basis

Jodi

Hi I am a woman in my 40s who has always loved reading and mostly used to read thrillers, my favorite author of this genre being Karen Slaughter. However recently I have wanted to try reading some of the classics having just finished George Orwell’s 1984 an Animal farm which were both amazing, and I am loving working my way through my new classic reading list! I don’t know many other people who love reading like I do and would love to join a group and meet likeminded people and discover more genres and books that I haven’t tried yet.

It’s so different to anything I have read before, I love the depth of all the characters, the details in the authors descriptions of environment and the way the main characters change but you remain invested in all of them.

Dani

Hi! I recently moved to Basildon and the area is completely new to me. I was looking for a book club and ended up here. :) In my 20s I used to read lots of fantasy and classic literature, now (30 something) I mostly read fiction, self development, thriller and romance books but I am a bookworm at heart and very open minded about recommendations! Would love to meet new people that share my love for books and art in general, maybe create a new book club at the local library or coffee shops. Feel free to message me if you’d be interested to form a book club in Basildon ☺️

I am.looking to expand my social circle. I used to be an avid reader and have a love for words. I used to read multiple books and am hoping that a book club will help kick start that love all over again. I'd love to.meet up in a coffee shop, open to most genres. Find military, science fiction.and fantasy harder to get into

Nicole Obi

Hi, I’m Nicole – I’m 18 and currently on a journey of self-growth, exploring new passions, and creating a life that feels meaningful and exciting. Lately, I’ve been trying to romanticize the little things and focus on becoming the best version of myself – and reading has become a big part of that. I want to join a book club because I love getting lost in a good story, especially romance. There’s something about the emotions, the characters, and the twists that just pull me in. But I’m also open to exploring different genres and discovering books I wouldn’t normally pick up on my own. More than anything, I’m looking forward to sharing thoughts, hearing different perspectives, and connecting with others through books.

Valayra Rose

33f and currently delving into the world of fantasy after falling in love with ACOTAR and absolutely obsessing over Fourth Wing (I am here for all fan theories after reading Onyx Storm). Also love a crime thriller but 2025 is the year of fantasy/romantasy so all recommendations will be appreciated.

The current big sensation which I have fallen head over heels for. This is the sort of series where I am transported into the world and it’s more than words on a page. Yes I may be slightly obsessed with Xaden but this series brings me the excitement that I felt as a kid with the Harry Potter series.
