Jubson (Epping)

Although I like crime fiction and historical novels I’d like to explore other genres and learn how to critique a book. I’m afraid I’m not a fan of romance!

Seraphina (Dagenham)

I'm Seraphina and I fell back in love with reading during covid and have wanted to find people around my age who also enjoy reading and like to talk about books without getting weird looks or the usual 'i haven't touched a book since I was 5'. I enjoy reading fictional books in the romance, fantasy, thriller, horror and classic (if they are not just stories doused in racism and hold themes that can translate to today's society and world in some way) genre and I am open to finding out about other types of books and genres.

It is a heartbreaking display of pain, emotions and toxic relationships and a path to finding a better path for oneself even after bad circumstances

Em (Rayleigh)

Hi 👋🏻 I’m 25 and new to the area (Benfleet/Rayleigh), I’m looking to meet other girls with similar interests like reading! I mostly read fantasy & romance, but I can also dig a philosophy, personal development, or science book. Or a language book (beginner Spanish & I’m learning Irish) :) I’d love to grab a coffee/tea and chat about a book!

Emma (Braintree)

Hi, I'm Emma, 19 years old. I moved to the area about a year ago and have done nothing but work, so I'm looking for a few friendly faces to talk about books with :) I usually read fantasy, historical fiction and magical realism, but honestly as long as the writing is to my taste I don't mind genres. I've been loving queer and religious themes recently

it's sooo long, but really dives into the lives and changing views of each of the characters, something i often miss in contemporary fiction. The author explores the different mindsets of the siblings and parents of an american family, where the dad is a parish leader. obviously they all have a strong connection with religion and eachother. We follow them for a good few years, and i loved reading this because it really shows how people change. Even though they are siblings, growing up in the same house, they lead such different lives.

What I find most amazing about this book is the way the writer writes in first person, and goes in-between two characters. I enjoy how he makes them so different yet so similar. And how he shows their separate lives to them meeting during a crime scene. It's so heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. The writer really thought hard how to put this story together and wanted it to me something people would remember.

Arireadsalot (Ilford)

I love reading all kinds of genres — psychological thrillers, murder mysteries, and a good old rom-com are definitely my go to, but honestly, I’m up for reading a bit of everything. I’m always looking for new recommendations and love chatting about books with people who are just as into reading. think it’ll be fun to share thoughts, hear different perspectives, and just be part of a community that appreciates a good story!
