Sarah (Leigh-on-Sea)

Hi, I’m Sarah, 55yrs young. I moved to Leigh on Sea for love 4 years ago and although the love didn’t last, my passion for reading stayed strong! I would really like to find/start a book club in the area. I enjoy all kinds of books and have a list of 1000 books to read before I die. I’m half way through! ☺️ I wouldn’t mind hosting books, wine and cheese nights or join an existing group.

Harrison (Brentwood)

Hiya, I'm a 23-year-old new to the area who is looking to make friends and discuss books we've read. I generally like fiction (e.g. historical fiction, romance, science fiction etc...) although open to most things really! Looking to meet up once a month or so (flexible), would be very informal I am not a high-brow intellectual haha. I'm super friendly and chilled I promise - very reassuring I know.

Books Paula (Billericay)

Hi, I enjoy reading most genre's especially murder mysteries and thrillers, romance and fantasies. I would love to meet and make new friends, but do struggle to put myself out there, so am quite lonely and thought a book club maybe would be a good start to try and change things for myself.

Books Paula recommends:

I am currently reading Colder than the grave
by JD Kirk | Buy this book
This is book no.14 of the DCI Logan series and I just love them although they are mainly crime fiction set in and around Highlands but have plenty of Scottish humour splattered in each story, I often find myself laughing out loud too which some people might find a bit odd. I would highly recommend these books to anyone who enjoys a good read. My favourite book of all time I think has to be Flowers in the Attic by Virginia Andrews that book I read many years ago but it sticks with me even now, excellent book.
All of the above
by JD Kirk | Buy this book
They are all brilliant in their own ways, definitely worth reading.
