Samantha (Braintree)
Hi I am Samantha and I’ve lived in Braintree for 15 years, I am an avid reader and looking for a book club in the day that fits in with work and children. Most book clubs are evenings which isn’t great for me as I start work at 5am. I enjoy horror, historical fiction, crime,. Smut and more! I am a big Stephen king fan and would love to find people to meet up and create a book club with in Braintree.

Hello everyone, I'm 32, and I am pretty new to the area since we moved a couple of months ago. Because of my job I haven't be able to make friends. Books are my sweet escape, i love romance/fantasy/dystopian ; some of my favourite books are Fourth Wing, Throne of Glass (the absolute best) & Crescent City. I'm not the best in reviewing books, but i love to talk about them and share my passion. Pilates and coffee runs are also on the table :)

Louise (Rochford)
I'd love to join a local group near Southend or Rochford. I'm currently reading John of John by Douglas Stewart who also wrote Shuggie Bain which was a 5* read for me. I like modern contemporary fiction but like to read a couple of classics a year. This year it was The Grapes of Wrath by Steinbeck and So Long, See you Tomorrow by William Maxwell. My current favourite authors are Elizabeth Strout, Donal Ryan, Helen Garner, Colm Toibin and Kevin Barry. I've got a bit of a block on the romantasy genre and anything formulaic. My controversial opinion is I don't like Lily King or other overhyped modern fiction. But I do read it, to be sure.
