Amy

Hello, my name is Amy. I am 27 years old and live in the Chigwell/Hainault area. I have always wanted to join a book club. I am happy to meet in a cosy setting such as a café to discuss our group's chosen book. I particularly like horror, gothic, psychological thrillers, literary fiction and the classics. I am open to other genres too.

Amy recommends:

The Shining by Stephen King

Michael

I'm looking to reignite my love of books with like minded people. I've read everything from classics to trashy science fiction. I'm not very interested in autobiographies, preferring fiction. I'm not particularly looking for a social life outside of a book club, but wouldn't be averse to the occasional night out. I'm 62, married, with 3 grown up children and for the past 20 years I've worked at various jobs in the criminal justice system. Currently part time, in an effort to get a better work-life balance and have time for hobbies again.

Michael recommends:

The Gunslinger (Dark Tower Series) by Stephen King

I read the 1st instalment and was enthralled by the ingenuity of the story line, entwining the genres of science fiction and the western, with a mix of different worlds, unlike anything I'd read before. I'd read some other Stephen king but this was completely different and I've re-read it many time since and always enjoyed it again.

Miffy

I'm a mum of 4 who has finally started to find some time for reading again. It might be entertaining sharing books with others and meeting new people in the area.
