Ian (Bracknell)

I'm 27, I enjoy non-fiction and fiction, but I've been trying to get into more fiction recently. I love reading, and I used to be a part of book club in my previous job, but now I'm in search of fellow book nerds.

Page_turner (Maidenhead)

I love to read books and discuss books. However, none of my friends read. So, would love to join a nice book club locally and enjoy discovering and discussing new books. I read almost anything...from classics to thrillers to historic fiction....period murder mysteries...even a little bit of non-fiction

Hannah V (Reading)

I have recently got back into reading after a hiatus that coincided with having a baby. The baby I now 8 years old and I'm managing to read again! Would love to meet some new people, get out of my little bubble and read more and chat about reading. I enjoy 'easy' books that don't require too much brain power but also appreciate something a bit more meaty for time to time. Have just finished Shari Low's One Day with You, The Familiars was brilliant, really enjoying Mike Gayle's books, and the best book I may have ever read is Weyward by Emilia Hart.

I’ve just gotten back into reading and absolutely in love with fantasy and romance. I’d love to join a book group to meet new people who share the same love for books.

Effie (Bracknell)

I joined a friend of mine for her book club down in Brighton, loved it so much I’d like to join my own. Looking for other young women (I’m mid 20s) who enjoy reading and would be up for meeting to chat over brunch or something. My favourite book I’ve read this year is between All Fours, Miranda July or The Testament, Margaret Atwood.

Bookaddict (Windsor)

I like good writing and I like a good murder mystery (but not the violent kind - give me a nice polite murder any time). Also like funny/witty books and non-fiction (particularly history). The one thing I don't read is "celebrity" biography but, otherwise, never happier than when the pile of books beside my bed is so high it's in danger of toppling

Bookaddict recommends:

The Poisoned Chocolates Case by Anthony Berkeley
The Poisoned Chocolates Case
by Anthony Berkeley | Buy this book
Beautifully written and plotted quite brilliantly. So clever. So very clever. BUT, if you get hold of the British Library Crime Classics edition, I recommend you close the book where Berkeley stops writing and ignore the denouements added by later editors.

I read this in sixth form and enjoyed it very much. It’s disturbing but also tackles real world issues which I think is very important!

I’m 19, looking to join a book club with my friend (see post below). We ideally want something casual and relaxed, to make new friends and have a nice activity to do together. Personally I am open to any genre but I tend to lean towards fantasies :-)

Sam (Bracknell)

I like biographies, thrillers, classics - to be honest not many genres I don't like as long as the book is engaging. I would like to connect with others so I can chat about the books I am reading, not many in my immediate circle of friends are really into books much.

Sam recommends:

Taste - my life through food by Stanley Tucci
Taste - my life through food

Not just the story of his life and his Italian family, but also the recipes that he occasionally puts in - I am into cooking as well.
False Alarm
by Bjorn Lomberg | Buy this book
Very intriguing book about the false advertising of climate change activists and media, full of science and alternative solutions. I've not finished it yet, but so far very eye opening.

Bee (Ascot)

I’m a huge fan of the supernatural, thanks to the wicked stories my Gran used to tell when I was little. I’m looking to join a casual club since I won’t be able to meet regularly. I enjoy meeting new people, and reading books that expand the mind. It always makes for a good time!

Soph (Bracknell)

There isn't enough time in the day to read! I'll always have a book to hand and my favourite genre completely depends on my mood. I'd love to join a book group to discuss my favourite reads but also to dig into something I might not have picked otherwise!

CookhamMac (Maidenhead)

I'm looking for a varied group of people in my area who like to read books and then share their comments/experiences. I've self-published a novel fairly recently and enjoyed the experience....and learnt SO much. I want to learn more (from other readers and writers) and enjoy generating and discussing ideas with others. I need to get into the habit of reading more than I do and a fun book club would help that.

CookhamMac recommends:

Cider with Rosie by Laurie Lee
