A high fantasy world with grounded and brutally realistic stakes. The series is incredibly long, and a very slow and difficult start, but the payoff with the world building and character drama is practically unbeatable. Please note this book may not be for anyone who is not looking to read material that covers sensitive topics and there are very visceral and uncomfortable depictions of triggering topics such as assault, PTSD, and racial discrimination. Please read the trigger warnings and proceed with caution.
