Book clubs in Essex

This was my favourite book series growing up, and I've read it countless times. My first copy is close to falling apart. I love how silly it is, the world building and the way the story is told from different POV's.

I have not stopped thinking about this book since I first read it year ago.

The great sadness of Afghanistan but also the beauty it once had and the many happy times within family life.

The OUABH trilogy is my Roman Empire. I think of Jacks and Eva and the magnificent north everyday. What is so great about these books? Honestly I don’t know. All I know is that I connected so much with the characters the world and their adventures.

Despite it's controversial subject matter, Lolita is one of the most compelling, complex and most beautifully written books I've ever read. The writing prose, along with the unique examination of its characters, makes this book an absolute masterpiece.

One of my favourite fantasy books of all time, and so far my favourite book in the incredible Malazan series, the Bonehunters contains pay off after pay off as to its incredible storytelling throughout the series, features some of the most expansive and most unforgettable set pieces in the series, and two notable endings for the price of one.

An incredible conclusion to an amazing series, this 14th and final book to the immersive Wheel of Time series delivers a grandiose and heart-wrenching ending filled with epic action, memorable character moments, and one of the best endings to series in recent memory. An absolute knockout of a book.

I read the 1st instalment and was enthralled by the ingenuity of the story line, entwining the genres of science fiction and the western, with a mix of different worlds, unlike anything I'd read before. I'd read some other Stephen king but this was completely different and I've re-read it many time since and always enjoyed it again.

Inspired by my own work and personal experiences, this dip-in style fictional book presents a humorous and often tongue-in-cheek insight into the life of a London minicab driver, through the eyes of the sincere and endearing Thomas Buckley. It covers many aspects of the job, such as minicab etiquette and notable passenger encounters, but also shares Buck’s innermost thoughts and his amusing insights into situations, people and relationships as he goes about his daily business and is complete with a smattering of his favourite jokes along the way. It is an amusing and uplifting read that is as much about everyday life as it is about minicabbing itself. Busy this Evening? is traditionally published and is widely available online.
