Cait (Rochester)

Hey! I am in my early 20’s and am a massive lover of reading! I got back into it around two years ago when I read Fourth Wing and it has spiralled from there… I will read almost anything however 90% of my reads have been Fantasy! Looking to join a bookclub to push myself out of my comfort zone and find people with a similar interest🤍✨

This is an incomplete fantasy series, but it is incredible, it is what got me into fantasy and I can’t wait for the next books to come out. This series will make you cry, laugh and want to throw it all at the same time! Bonus if you love a little spice :D

Jo (Rochester)

Hello, I'm looking to get back into doing things I enjoy and reading is one of them. I'd also enjoy meeting people and building friendships. I work 9-5 in healthcare and my kids are adults now. I have lots of free time! Oh and I'm 50 😀 How does this work? Happy to share emails and arrange something as I can't see an active club for Rochester or am I missing something 🤔

BookLover_Sarah (Ebbsfleet)

Hi everyone! I’m 36F fairly new to Ebbsfleet and looking to plant some roots. After spending the last several years working in the Middle East, I’ve finally moved back to the UK and am eager to dive into local life. My New Year’s resolution is twofold: rediscover my love for reading and build genuine local connections. I figured, why not do both at the same time? I’m looking to meet fellow book lovers and neighbors who enjoy a good chat over a story. If you’re a reader (or looking for a reason to become one again), I’d love to connect!

Adrian (Dartford)

I'm Adrian, 63, a keen reader of all kinds of books, mostly fiction. I enjoy genres such as social commentary, mystery and horror as well as spy novels, and I absolutely love a good courtroom drama. I'm also a fan of poetry, both classic and modern. Recent books include - The Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy, Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, Dracula by Bram Stoker, You Are Here by David Nicholls, and 'The Husbands' by Holly Gramazio. My all-time favourite book, is 'The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists' by Robert Tressell. I'd enjoy being challenged to read outside of my 'preferred' authors/styles and I'd enjoy discussing and unpacking aspects and themes with others.

Adrian recommends:

The Ragged Trousered Philanthropists
by Robert Tressell | Buy this book
It's a shocking, alarming (and often funny) exploration of the lives of the working classes in Edwardian Britain. There are many topics addressed in the book that resonate today... the 'deserving poor' vs the 'undeserving poor' the self-serving nature of (some) politicians, the narrowness of available political options, short term employment and what we now call zero hour contracts, and the hypocrisy of the Church and other 'charitable' institutions.

Jaynie (Ashford (Kent))

My name is Jayne, I have always loved reading from a young age, I like the idea of reading books that other people find interesting and recommend, when I read the back of a book to get the idea of the story it has to grab my attention if it doesn’t I don’t read it but I have been told persevere and see what happens, I am interested to know what other readers think and talking about a book with other people interests me me as well.
