One of the best novels I’ve read about male friendship. It covers two chunks of time, one when a group of friends are young and on the Hacienda club scene, following The Smiths, and then much later when they’re holding down jobs and coping with major problems. Moving and real.

I love being drawn into a book, when you just have to have a quick 2 pages before you can carry on with your day! It is only recently, as I no longer work full time, that I feel I have time to indulge in a book. I am looking to meet similar people, and to read books I wouldn’t necessarily choose myself.

Crime and Punishment

It is the best book I have read, it's perfect in the way it shows guilt and shame as well as the importance of relationships with family and friends. It is a long book but the length is worth the quality of detail for each event that transpires. I will re-read this book again and again

Part of a trilogy following the nursing journey of the author during the first World War. A rare personal look at that era that reads like a beautiful novel rather than a boring old history book. Really gave me an insight into the lives of my grand parents and great grandparents.
