peter (Braintree)
Have recently moved to Essex - good to get acquainted with folk who love books. I try to alternate novels with non-fiction - have recently read "Golden Hill" by Spufford which is top notch historical fiction. Am also keen on aviation, steam railways, military history. Braintree Library has a book group (according to the Net) but crime which is not a genre I read much.

Danielle (Grays Thurrock)
Hi Early 30s. Love reading all genres, but particularly enjoy horrors, thrillers or history (specifically Tudor, world wars, vikings or victorians). Looking to meet others to be able to discuss books & make friends with similar interests

Mango (Romford)
I love the classics, fantasy, romantasy, comedy and started to read a few thrillers. I used to love Stephen King as a young teen, but haven't read horror in a while. I'd like to chat about books we've read and getting recommendations - i think that a club would help me in focusing to read more and doom scroll less...

Mary (Grays Thurrock)
I am an elderly female who has recently moved to Chafford Hundred after separating from my husband. I read every day and my current author is Ken Follett. Before that John Stanford, crime writer. I have an eclectic taste in reading material - Jilly Cooper, Maeve Binchy, Jeffrey Archer, etc. It would be great to have recommendations from others and to spend time meeting up to discuss opinions.

I'm 34 and been living in Rayleigh for the past few years and would really love to do something more social based around reading. I will read almost anything but mostly enjoy thrillers and books that make you think. I would really like to meet up with some like minded, friendly faces (over coffee or wine or both!) and get into some good books together.

Jacklyn (Hornchurch)
50 year old professional working in London. I studied English literature for my degree and it's where my love for reading stems from. I love the classics, but I read everything from thrillers to bestsellers and translations. The best bit about reading a new book is discussing it with others; and that's something I'm missing at the moment. Would love to join a local book club and discuss books.
