It takes you back to Victorian times. Is the story of a medium that tries to maintain her status in a very demanding and unforgiving upper class society. It is very well written and has a good pace. Grabs your attention till the end.

I never thought that Rebecca Yarros could write anything instead of amazing novels about dragons. However, when I read this historical Romance Novel I was transported into another world, full of young love, possibilities and heartbreak. The book takes place across two time frames, one, is a love story between Scarlett and Jamieson, a WW2 pilot experienced through letters left by the two lovers to be later on discovered by Scarlette's grand-daughter Georgia who strikes an unexpected friendship and romance with Noah, a writer hired to finish a book started by Scarlett. This book had me sobbing for hours as it portrays longing, loss and love so perfectly. Picking up this book will not be regretted.

Hi, I moved to Orpington in 2022 and I’d like to join a book club that meets nearby. I’m 42 and have always loved reading since I was a child. I read a wide range of books from many genres, but I suppose my favourites are historical fiction and fantasy. I also enjoy reading about history and listen to a lot of history podcasts.

Stompy5x5 (Canterbury)

I'm currently reading Lee Child Killing Floor and definitely plan on reading more of his work. I've also read the Throne of Glass series and am up to Empire if Storms. I do also enjoy non-fiction books especially science related. I'm not a huge bookworm but I do enjoy it in my free time.

The writing was very enchanting and I just couldn't put it down. It's a story I've never come across in anything else before and it gives a great insight on the Greek Gods.

Steph (Whitstable)

Hi, I'm looking for a local book club, preferably in or near Whitstable, and am open to any genre. I've slightly drifted into reading what appears in the charity shops / prize winners and would like to be challenged to find/bring something unfamiliar to me or to read something suggested by others. Evenings would be nice but I could manage an afternoon. I'm not into true crime or anything particularly violent or scary.
