This is book is so colorful and immersive, so full of smells and textures, yet at the same time so dark. It is a very personal insight into the lives of those who opposed tyranny in Trujillo's Dominican Republic. Both tragic and inspiring.

This book is great as it opened my eyes and mind to a world I've never really considered. How geography has played such a huge role in the power houses becoming power houses, and how certain countries are blessed and cursed by their geography. It's extremely educational and it's helped me see the world for what it is.
