Addiscombe book club

A group that meets once a month on a Monday. We read all fiction from classics to the best sellers such as Yellowface. We welcome people who really enjoy reading, who are interested in tackling all the genres of reading and who are interested I debating and thinking about the novel from different angles.

I really enjoy reading, but sometimes I find that life gets in the way and a couple of months have passed since I last picked up a book. It would be nice to find some people to talk books with and to suggest new things to read. I don't have a specific type of book that I enjoy - I'll read anything from classics, to sci-fi to biographies.

This is a short book, but packed with emotion. It's so clever how the story is slowly revealed as the book progresses - it's so subtly done but it seems almost inevitable when you get to the end, although that's never what you would have imagined at the beginning.

Blue Shed Girl

Would love to connect with fellow readers to discuss & hear different perspectives on book I’ve read & also get suggestions for new books. Currently reading lots of nature-inspired books (I love gardening, hiking, wildlife etc) but enjoy other genres too, especially those with well developed & interesting characters. Would be great to find a local reading group with like-minded people!

52 yr old looking to join a local book club (and meet new people). Fell out of the habit of reading for years. Set myself a new year resolution on 01/01/2023 to read one book a month in 2023. Its October and have read 24 books to date. Smashing this resolution and have absolutely fallen back in love with reading :) New goal set of 30 books read by midnight 31/12/2023. Joining a book club should hopefully keep me breaking personal reading goals and also boost my social life. Making friends in your 50s is no joke! Maybe that could be my 2024 goal :)
