Mari

I love romantasy, romance, and advanced fantasy books with complex world-building. I’m looking for a book club that we read a mixture between these genres and discuss it afterwards :)

Retired, and my days tend to move naturally between prayer, walking, and cooking. I am looking for a book group with reading that does the same—happy to cross genres, as long as there is plenty of depth to talk over afterward.I enjoy meaningful discussions and am looking forward to connecting with fellow readers, discovering new perspectives, and sharing recommendations. I also drop into a small local group that meets at Weybridge Library — found via Instagram (@theweybridgebookclub) rather than any formal channel, which suits me. Happy to compare notes with other clubs too.

Matthew recommends:

Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid

A story of astronauts and orbits that turns out to be really about gravity of a different kind — what pulls people toward each other, and what it costs to hold a life together across distance. Beautifully paced, and it lingered.

I love the feeling of imersing my self in a nice book to the point that nothing else mattress. I love and miss reading Charles Bukowski.Likes his raw, brutal way of writting with only the essential nothing else.

I am very keen to explore different genres of books and have discussions with others regarding all types of literature. It would be great to join a book club again even online.

Weybridge Book Club

I've been looking to join an informal book club - just a chance to sit, read, and chat about whatever we're reading. I'm planning on being in The Queen's Head in Weybridge most Fridays from 4:45 - 6pm ish. If you want to join me, bring a book and grab a drink. There's no specific book to read, but generally I read speculative fiction, sci fi, fantasy and translated fiction. Feel free to drop me a message if you're planning to come.
