Ellie P

Hello, I’m Ellie. I am open to a range of genres, fiction annd non-fiction, and happy to be introduced to titles I haven’t heard of before (always looking for recommendations). Fiction-wise I have just finished re-reading Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, and I’ve been reading a lot of non-fiction recently about women in the medieval period (highly recommend Janina Ramirez). An author that has really made an impression on me recently is Julia Armfield.

I love the suspense of this book. I really love how it plays with the uncanny. It kept me hooked.

Najwan

I’m 28 & I like classic literature (mainly fiction and nonfiction) and I want to get back into reading. I'm looking for a book club that meets once a month to discuss great works in a relaxed and engaging setting—one where I can share insights, hear different perspectives, and connect with fellow book lovers.

It’s a simple yet profound story about following one’s dreams and finding meaning in life. I read this in my teenage years and it left me feeling empowered and hopeful. It also motivated me working towards my goals, it in this case it was studying for my final exams.

the romance is nice and I really like how bubbly the main character is, maybe not the best writing but I don't read for the quality of it, just the plot. It was predictable but it was a nice cute romance

I’m in my 20’s just graduated from uni and I love reading. I’m trying to find a book club that is friendly, reads quality books (not trashy!) and is not pressurising. Thank you!

It’s very cleverly written and captures the themes of literature, philosophy and the search for happiness through the life of one woman who moves to a small town, away from the modern education system.
