I'm moving to Guildford from the N.W. where I have been a part of an amazing book club called 'Crime & Nourishment'. We met once a month to have a lovely meal and discuss our crime read of the month. We had lots of of author visits and as a group went to the theatre, pub, cinema, book/ meet the author sessions/ afternoon teas/reading sessions/ crime festivals. I'm looking for a crime fiction group to join in the Guilford/ surrounding village areas but I am also happy to join a book group that reads other genres too as I also enjoy all sorts of fiction.

This book completely swept me away. From the very first chapters, I was drawn in by its eerie, gothic, and whimsical atmosphere , dark yet beautiful, like a gothic fairy tale. The pacing was smooth with no dull moments, and the mystery built gradually throughout the book kept me invested. And has a slow burn romance.

Fiction-wise I have just finished re-reading Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights, and I’ve been reading a lot of non-fiction recently about women in the medieval period (highly recommend Janina Ramirez). An author that has really made an impression on me recently is Julia Armfield.
