I’ve never read anything like this before. Is it sci fi? Is it fantasy? Is it dystopian? Who knows, you make your own mind up! But somehow whether you like any of the above genres or not, you will feel so strongly about the story for reasons you may not be able to fathom for some time. It will grip you and leave you obsessed for months.

I think this is Austen's most interesting book, very different from her other titles! It has mystery and romance, really lovely! I don't know which other book would be really similar to this but the one that comes to my head is Dracula due to the mystery side of things.

It is such a feel good book, with hope and how somehow we can impact a life without really knowing how amazing this can be for the person. It is also about what family really means and what happiness means in practice and on a visceral level. It is also written so beautifully, down to earth... not at all sickly sweet and you just end up liking all those that are meant to be liked and actually you pity those that a pain in the backside as sometimes we have all experienced trying to do good but it going wrong. No to mention the moments when you are laughing... because even in the most tense of life moments...even when you can't see it at the time... life is side splittingly funny x
