As someone was in a miserable situation in her 20s, this book was heartwarming and restored hope. It's beautifully written

Picked this book on a whim after it caught my eye in a bookshop. Its a discussion of love and marriage in it's long cycle. The format of the book is also fascinating with the narrator breaking the fourth wall to interject philosophical thoughts on the situation of our lovers. A book I would recommend any budding lovers who in all earnestness yearns for their love to last till death.

Debbie (Dorking)

I enjoy reading, and have belonged to a couple of bookclubs in the past. I read mainly modern fiction left to my own devices, but like clubs because they expand what you would normally read. I'm also sociable, and would like to make new friends in the area that I live in.

Bea (Camberley)

I’m 23 and looking for friends to talk about books with, since none of mine are readers. I am looking to join or create a book club which reads from a range of genres, though I particularly enjoy historical fiction and gothic novels. Please contact me if you think you’d like to read with me :)

Bea recommends:

Shadow of the Wind
by Carlos Ruiz Zafón | Buy this book
It’s the first book of four, which you can read in any order to create a unique reading experience for yourself. Transporting you to historical Barcelona flawlessly, you forget you belong to 21st century England as you read. The mystery of the book grips you and prevents you from putting it down, willing you to figure out the truth from a non-chronological retelling of the past, whilst not wanting the book to come to an end. A book that brings you to tears once the last page is read.
